On Tuesday 4th October I took 17 of our boys to Caterham School from Years 3 and 4 to play in a soccer fixture. On arrival Caterham had only got their Year 3 boys team together.
It was quickly decided between myself and the Caterham Staff to select 6 individual teams from across the two schools. Caterham and Oakhyrst boys played together in one of six teams. The six teams were then divided into two groups of three and both groups played a round robin tournament on one of two pitches. The outcome was a lovely social mix between the boys from the two schools in a competitive soccer tournament.
Needless to say our Year 4 boys shone through but indeed all of the boys played incredibly well. The weather was lovely and many of our parents enjoyed an afternoon of sport watching their children in the sunshine on the Caterham Prep pitches.
